The Gap That Couldn't Be Ignored
Michael Parrinello spent years in J&J MedTech watching the same broken pattern repeat across every healthcare encounter: a patient's critical health story scattered across a dozen portals, providers, and paper records — missing exactly when it mattered most. He began designing what would become OnePath. Not another app. Foundational infrastructure for how health data could finally move.
Building What Nobody Else Would
Thomas Alaimo joined to turn the vision into reality. Together they made one decision that would define everything: build it right from day one. HIPAA-compliant. FHIR R4-native. AI-first. No shortcuts on security, no shortcuts on standards. They spent months architecting the consent model, the FHIR data layer, and the AI inference engine before writing a single product feature.
First Prototypes Come Alive
The first working system launched. FHIR R4 pipelines. Dual-layer consent authentication. AI-powered lab document processing. Dr. Ketan Badani — Vice Chair of Robotic Urology at Mount Sinai — joined as Chief Medical Officer, bringing the clinical depth and institutional credibility to validate what the team was building from the ground up.
Architecture at Scale
The platform matured across every dimension. Azure Health APIs underpinned the infrastructure. LOINC and SNOMED CT alignment brought full clinical terminology compliance. OPi — OnePath Intelligence — took shape as the AI layer. The partner model crystallized: give any organization API access to enterprise health intelligence without forcing them to build the underlying stack.
Marist College Partnership
OnePath began its first institutional academic partnership with Marist College. The collaboration proved a pivotal insight: the demand for secure, AI-powered health intelligence wasn't limited to clinical organizations. Universities, wellness programs, fitness platforms, and any institution that genuinely cares about human health needed exactly what OnePath had built.

OnePath Connect goes live as the official B2B Partner API. From health plans and EHR systems to fitness platforms and corporate wellness programs — any organization building with health data can now access enterprise-grade AI intelligence and HIPAA-native infrastructure through a single, secured API.
